The Governing Council is the apex body of the DCE-DTU Alumni Association. The mission of the association is "to engage as many alumni” as possible in supporting the Delhi Technological University as well as alumni across the globe.
The Governing Council has Office Bearers and members with overall numbers at 15 nos. The Office Bearers are President supported by Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer and GC Members (10 nos).
The Governing Council members are from 1962 to 2009 batches and different streams. The GC is chartered to manage the alumni association delivering on its vision. The team is further supported by Chapters and Committees.

Karnal Singh, Past President,Founder Vice President
Karnal Singh belongs to the 1979 batch, Electrical (Electronics) Engineering. He did his M Tech in Computer Science from IIT, Kanpur in 1981. Later on he did his LLB from University of Goa and MBA from FMS, Delhi. He was awarded ‘The Best Student of DCE’. He also remained ‘The Best Sportsman’ and ‘The Best Athlete’ in the college.
He belongs to the 1984 batch of IPS. He bagged the title of ‘The Best Sportsman’ and ‘The Best Athlete’ during the IPS training. He has served in Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Goa and Delhi. He was awarded with the ‘President’s Police medal for meritorious services’ and the ‘President’s Police medal for the distinguished services’. He has contributed immensely in the modernization of the police and is known for his contribution in the field of controlling the terrorism and the crime.
Presently he is posted as Special Director, Enforcement Directorate, Government of India, New Delhi.

Nawal Kant Sethi, after schooling in Modern School ,did B.Sc (Civil Engg.) from Delhi College of Engineering in 1971, worked as AE in NDMC till 1980-handled challenging jobs including resurfacing 36 Roads in time bound manner before World PATA Conference -1978, Designing , Bridge construction & most challenging NDMC’s 18 storeyed RCC pre-stressed, post tensioned curvaceous-Palika Bhawan on four Shear walls (no columns --first time in India),worked for three years as EE in Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board (APMC)-developed Agro Markets along with UNDP team from Newzealand and UK. From’83 he worked as Dy.Manager in Trade Fair Authority of India(Ministry of Commerce). Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, President
Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, a member of ‘TEAM-15’, joined Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1999 to pursue his passion for public service. He has served as Additional Commissioner, MCD, Delhi; Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi; Commissioner Indore and Bhopal, among other positions. He implemented Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects to setup Waste to Energy Plants of 20 MW (North MCD) and 13 MW (East MCD); and 500 MT/day Construction and Debris (C&D) Plant (East MCD). As Administrator, he led Indore Municipal Corporation to receive the ‘Cleanest City of India Award’ by Honourable President of India, for two years in 2021 and 2022. Based on professional excellence, he was empanelled for Joint Secretary, Government of India in 2016.

Rajeev Agarwal, Vice President
Rajeev Agarwal (1977 batch), a Merit Scholarship holder, is an avid sports enthusiast and has represented the college in athletics and hockey teams in the University of Delhi inter college championship. He joined ‘NTPC Limited’ in its formative years, as Executive Trainee 2nd batch, though he got selected in Indian Engineering Services and other competitive examinations in his first attempt. He served the flagship Maharatna Company for 38 years, then a zero MW company and now the present installed capacity is 73,824 MW. He was an Office Bearer of Sector-14 RWA, Noida at an age of 34 years for five terms in two spells. Sunil Kumar Choudhary, Vice President
Sunil Kumar Chaudhary, a valued member of 'TEAM-15,' earned his Civil Engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering in 1982 and M. tech from IIT Delhi, and received the prestigious "Distinguished Alumni Award" in recognition of his outstanding achievements. Dr. Dipti Mal, Vice President

Arun Kumar Aggarwal, General Secretary
Arun Kumar Aggarwal (1996 – Mech), member of TEAM15 and a senior banking professional with ICICI Bank. He did MBA from NTU, Singapore and exchange semester at Indiana University USA. He has worked with Citi Bank in Singapore and Europe prior to joining ICICI Bank. He was elected central councilor and nominated as Acting President, Student Association during his DCE days. He has been volunteering with Alumni Association since 2009. He played a key role in launch of Mumbai and Bengaluru Chapters. He was convener of Platinum Jubilee celebrations committee which organized four different events to commemorate 75 years of our alma mater, He also played an active role in arranging sponsorships for alumni association. Arun Gupta, Joint Secretary
Arun Gupta, (Mech, 2005) member of Team 15, is working at Siemens Energy, Gurgaon. Arun is among the youngest members of the executive council and has been affiliated with the DCE alumni association since 2007. He stands out as one of the most engaged contributors to the events organized by the alumni association, working closely with presidents, general secretaries, and earning their consistent appreciation, which keeps him consistently motivated and plays an active role in DTU's events, including orientation day, convocation day, and other functions, garnering recognition from the university's deans and vice chancellor. Recently, he launched a scholarship program with his close ones for economically disadvantaged DTU students, offering a grant of Rs 3 lakh for those falling under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category. Suman Rai Khatri
Suman Rai Khatri 1979 – Elect. & Electronics A compulsive entrepreneur, Shri Suman Rai Khatri started his own venture in times when few used to look beyond the security of a job. During his long career, he established and successfully ran several successful ventures in electronics assembly, computer accessory manufacturing, and poultry farming, to name a few. Sunil Chander Sharma 1990 – Civil Sunil had an illustrious career in the Indian Revenue Service (1992 batch) where he was involved in the implementation of several paradigm-changing initiatives.
