Shri A.K Ganju

Shri A.K Ganju, Member(Design & Research),Central Water Commission & Ex-officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India ,was born on 25th July,1952.

He graduated in Civil Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering in 1973.He has done M.Tech in Water Resources Engineering from IIT,Delhi .He has done Post Graduate Diploma in Hydraulic Engineering from International Institute of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering ,Delft,Netherland

Shri Ganju joined Central Water Enginnering Service through Central Engineering Examination conducted by UPSC in October ,1975 as Assistant Director and has since held various positions in Central Water Comission and other organization under the Ministry Of Power.In his 35 year distinguished service encompassing all aspects of water resources sector.Shri Ganju has made significant contribution in field of, design and consultancy for various Water resources and Thermal project,safety aspects of dams across country, development.management and execution of multi-purpose irrigation projects .Flood Management schemes within the Country and abroad .He was actively involved in design, planningand execution of Naptha Jhakri H.E.Project,Naraj Barrage Project, Micro Hydel schemes Sikkim,flood management schemes in Ganga and Brahmaputa Basins, Badarpur, Vijaywada and Anpara Thermal Projects .He was conferred plaque by the Institution of Engineers(India),Bhubaneshwar chapter in recognition of his eminence and contribution to the profession of Civil Engineering.

As a member, Central Water Comission and Chairman ,Ganga flood Control Comission ,Shri Ganju ,represented Government of India in Various national and International committees on Hydrology ,National Committees on SeismicDesign Parameters of River Vally Projects,the Indian Natonal committeeof BIS ,WRD -15and ISO-TC-113.He is also vice president of Central Board of irrigation & Power.He is fellow Member of The Institute of Engineer (India) and Member of the Indian Society for Hydraulics.

Shri. Ganju has travelled to foreign countries of USA,U.K.,Netherlands,Italy,China,Malaysia,France,Belgium,Austria ad Bhutan for official work ,study tours and as member of India delegation.

Mr. V. Ramachandran

Mr. V. Ramachandran, is a distinguished alumni of Delhi College of Engineering, from the 1975 batch of Electrical & Electronics group. He is an Officer in the Higher Administrative Grade (holding the rank of Special Secretary to the Govt. Of India). He joined the Indian Railways Stores Service [IRSS] in September 1976, through UPSC Engineering Services, 1975 examination. He is presently posted as the Director General, at Research Design and Standards Organisation [RDSO], at Lucknow. RDSO is the premier technology intensive organisation with its mandate to define technologies for adoption on the Indian Railways.

In his over 34 years of service, Shri Ramachandran has served in various capacities in the Materials Management Department of the Indian Railways. Having started his career as an Engineer Trainee in BHEL, Bhopal in January 1976, he quit and joined the Indian Railways in September, the same year. Joining initially at the Southern Railways, he has served in CRIS, Metro Railway, Kolkata, South Eastern Railway, Kolkata, Northern Railway and Central Railway in addition to the Railway Board. He served as an Executive Director, in the Ministry of Railways, Railway Board, in charge of Procurement Policy during the year 1996. From the year 1997 onwards, for five years, he served as the Executive Director (Vigilance). He derives his experience in General Administration, having served as the Divisional Railway Manager, of Solapur Division in the Central Railway for two years.

He has been trained in Canada and Germany in Computer Hardware & Software and was associated with the prestigious project of Computerization of Passenger Reservation System (of computerised ticketing) in the Indian Railways in addition to ‘Bull mainframe computer’ hardware maintenance, dedicated to the Freight operations project. He was also associated with the Inventory Management System in the Indian Railways.

The year 2004 saw him associated with the Design & Development of “E Procurement” Project conceptualised in the Northern Railways which is currently under implementation and propagation all over the Indian Railways through the agency of CRIS.

Shri Ramachandran joined the Central Vigilance Commission as Chief Technical Examiner on Deputation, in December 2004 and continued heading the Technical wing till end December 2010. His responsibilities as a Chief Technical Examiner included carrying out intensive examination of Stores & Works Contracts, identifying systemic deficiencies, procedural irregularities and acts of malafide pertaining to contracts of all Central Government and Public Sector Undertaking including the Railways, and initiate system improvements by way of issue of CVC guidelines in addition to giving advice in cases relating to CBI and other technical matters.
