Shri A.K Ganju, Member(Design & Research),Central Water Commission & Ex-officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India ,was born on 25th July,1952. He graduated in Civil Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering in 1973.He has done M.Tech in Water Resources Engineering from IIT,Delhi .He has done Post Graduate Diploma in Hydraulic Engineering from International Institute of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering ,Delft,Netherland Shri Ganju joined Central Water Enginnering Service through Central Engineering Examination conducted by UPSC in October ,1975 as Assistant Director and has since held various positions in Central Water Comission and other organization under the Ministry Of Power.In his 35 year distinguished service encompassing all aspects of water resources sector.Shri Ganju has made significant contribution in field of, design and consultancy for various Water resources and Thermal project,safety aspects of dams across country, development.management and execution of multi-purpose irrigation projects .Flood Management schemes within the Country and abroad .He was actively involved in design, planningand execution of Naptha Jhakri H.E.Project,Naraj Barrage Project, Micro Hydel schemes Sikkim,flood management schemes in Ganga and Brahmaputa Basins, Badarpur, Vijaywada and Anpara Thermal Projects .He was conferred plaque by the Institution of Engineers(India),Bhubaneshwar chapter in recognition of his eminence and contribution to the profession of Civil Engineering. As a member, Central Water Comission and Chairman ,Ganga flood Control Comission ,Shri Ganju ,represented Government of India in Various national and International committees on Hydrology ,National Committees on SeismicDesign Parameters of River Vally Projects,the Indian Natonal committeeof BIS ,WRD -15and ISO-TC-113.He is also vice president of Central Board of irrigation & Power.He is fellow Member of The Institute of Engineer (India) and Member of the Indian Society for Hydraulics. Shri. Ganju has travelled to foreign countries of USA,U.K.,Netherlands,Italy,China,Malaysia,France,Belgium,Austria ad Bhutan for official work ,study tours and as member of India delegation.
