Shri Santosh Kumar

Shri Kumar has vast experience in power system planning and grid management. He was actively involved in the planning of EHV transmission network in Western and Northern Regions. He handled the project of setting up of 12.5 MW DG station in Port Blair, A&N Islands and sub-transmission and distribution works in Thimpu and Paro in Bhutan.

Shri Kumar is involved in formulating policies and guidelines relating to integrated operation of the Indian power grid and distribution. He has been instrumented in synchronization and operation of a system of about 90,000 MW comprising of four Regional grids, which is one of the largest systems in the world.

Shri Kumar played a key role in the formulation & implementation of Availability Based Tariff (ABT) in the country. He has headed various Committees constituted to investigate grid disturbances and suggested remedial measures to minimize grid disturbances.

Shri Kumar headed Central Power Research Institute, Bangalore as Director General as an additional charge for one year from September, 2003. He is now holding the additional charge of Director General, National Power Training Institute since 6th September, 2005.

Shri Kumar has contributed a number of technical papers in National and International Seminars/Conferences.

Shri Chander Prakash

Mr.Chander Prakash graduated from Delhi College of Engineering in Civil Engineering in the year 1973. He joined National Projects Construction Corporation Ltd. and served on a Hydel Power Project for about two years in Himachal Pradesh. During this period he was associated with the construction of switch yard and 16 Kms. long tunnel connecting Bleth river with Bair Dam.

He joined Indian Railway Services Of Engineers (IRSE) in 1975. After having two year’s training, buildings, bridges and other structures. On promotion he was posted as Sr. Engineer (Construction) and was associated with various Construction Projects of Station Buildings, Station Yards, Bridges, Road over Bridges & Staff Quarters etc.

In 1981 he met with a road accident and lost his vision completely. As a result he was posted at Headquarter. Despite this, as a result of dedication he was promoted to various grades and presently working as Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) Northern Railway Kashmere Gate, Delhi. During these years he had successfully dealth with Planning of works, Budgeting, Defense of Court/Arbitration Cases. With his rich experience in Court/Arbitration Cases and Contract matters, he is appointed as visiting Faculty for Indian Railway Institute Of Civil Engineering Pune.

Shri A.K Sarin

Shri A.K Sarin graduated from Delhi College of Engineering in the year 1969 in Civil Engineering and also a graduate of Law from Delhi University. He got selected in Central Engineering services conducted by the UPSC in the year 1971.

He served in Arunachal Pradesh as Assistant Executive Engineer and Executive Engineer for construction of Hill Roads, Bridges and Buildings. And also as a Executive Engineer from 1976 to 1986 in CPWD and Bhutan PWD and was also involved in construction of Buildings, Hill Roads and Bridges.

While working as Superintending Engineer in central PWD, DDA and PWD Delhi and was In-Chare of construction Flyovers, Bridges and Roads. He also worked in Real Estate projects of Kolkatta and DTC Projects in Indian Roads construction Corporation .

He also served as General Manager in Navodaya Vidhalaya Samiti in the Minister of HRD for 4 and 1/2 years from 1999 to 2003. and as Chief Engineer(Married Accommodation projects) for Defense Personnel in Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. Also executed worked for earthquake relief structures and J&K after the recent earthquake of October, 2005.

Presently Shri A.K Sarin is working as Engineer Member in Delhi Delhi Development Authority.
