Dear Alumnus,
Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year bringing success, prosperity, wellness and happiness in your family!
I thank and congratulate the Alumni fraternity of Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi Technological University, and Delhi Polytechnic for the grand success of our last Annual Alumni Meet 2017 held at Air Force Auditorium, Subroto Park on 4th February 2017. We were privileged to have Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences amidst us as the Chief Guest. In his address, he shared details about various initiatives of Government of India to support innovation and entrepreneurship amongst youth and leveraging technology to bring about a change in the lives of people. The Guest of Honour for the day was Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor, Delhi Technological University, who spoke about the accolades for DTU and its students and new initiatives to work together with our Alumni Association.
I must complement the Governing Body Members (from 1962 to 2010 batches) and the volunteers from batches upto 2014 providing refreshed zeal & energy to the event. A big THANK YOU to all of them. We had a record gathering this year, with over 1400 alums and their family members attending; a one big social event over the dinner.
I am pleased to share that your Association has set its footprint globally with launch of US Chapter at the Meet-Up event in Las Vegas from 24th to 26th February 2017 under the leadership of Mahesh Joshi (1982 batch), supported by RP Singh (1977 batch). The Keynote was delivered by our Distinguished Alumni, Sh. Pramod Haque (1969 batch).
DTU invited your Association Officials as Special Guests on the Orientation Day for the fresh DTU Batch 2017-2021 and the Golden Pride Dinner on eve of Convocation 2017 for the Topper Students of 2017 batch & PhD scholars. Looking ahead, we will continue with a refreshed approach for “Inclusive Growth of Alumni, Faculty & Students for Excellence of DTU”, through:
1. Building Professional Community Connect for the Alumni. 2. Expand Geographical Outreach: Revival of Chapters in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Haridwar and setting up chapters in USA, Singapore and Middle East 3.Focus on closer working with DTU contributing to Growth of DTU - Faculty & Students; a)Alumni Medals & Sponsorships with DTU b)Alumni support for Technological Business Incubator(TBI) to support Alumni, Students and Faculty for Start-ups including Funds and Space at DTU c)Professional Meets for Students at Campus d).Alumni & Industry Interaction for Faculty
We will be announcing the dates of Annual Alumni Meet 2018 shortly. I, on behalf of Alumni Association invite you to participate with your family and batch-mates in large numbers to make it another memorable evening. A formal invitation to all the registered members shall also be sent providing details separately. We have been working with DTU to launch a Coffee Table Book.
